I guess when you get to know a certain life style it begins to be normal to you. Saying that yes I think it can make someone gay or homosexual.

I don't it causes an individual to be gay. It still boils down to a choice. Just because you were sexually abused is not a reason for anyone to be an abuser or choose to live a homosexual life.
I think people use the abuse defense because society is more likely to accept "I was abused as a child" over the truth which is "I made this choice"
